Which Social Media Platform should I be using for my marketing?

Category: Marketing

Many social media users say one platform works better than another. I have also heard experts say similar, telling their audience to use one platform based on their belief that the others will not work as well.

Please think about this in a slightly different way. I want you to think about your target market and the particular avatar, or if you prefer the pen picture of your ideal client rather than the social media platform. Please research and find out where they are congregating online and then be there too. When I say find out where they congregate, I want you to be more detailed than just identifying the platform they use. I was hoping you could consider the groups they are members of, where they meet and network, and where they congregate. That is where you need to be with your marketing, sales funnels and special offers.

So the answer to the question is to use as many platforms that contain communities and groups where you can find your target market congregating. In most cases, this will include both Facebook and LinkedIn, not one or the other but both.

I am using those two platforms as examples, and of course, you should also be considering the other mainstream social media platforms. The rule is to go where your market is congregating.
