It started with a rant!
If you listen to the mainstream business commentators in your sector, you will be misled by their popular views; it’s not deliberate, just ill-conceived. All you have to remember is one simple but unavoidable fact: You don’t know what you don’t know!
It is human nature to fill in the gaps with what we know or think we know, and often this sends us in the wrong direction. If we have a gap that needs filling, we take whatever knowledge we have, no matter how flawed it might be and use that. Suppose you add to this, well-meaning suppliers with expertise who then sell you on their solution based only on what they know; you can see where the problems starts, because rather than the entire business picture, they focus on their area only. Here’s an example for you to consider:
The business owner has a great idea for a business. They know they need to gain traction from sales, that much is true. The problems start in how they go about it. The popular view would be to think about the website to create an online presence, which leads to digital marketing and SEO, PPC, and campaigns. That all sounds very reasonable. But it is often the case that the business owner will start to use these valuable tools prematurely. Understand me, these tools all have great value when used correctly and at the right time in the right way. The issue is the tendency to jump into this too soon, simply because you don’t know what you don’t know. The 7C’s will help you to avoid this hazard.
If you take a look around, you can see it happening all around you and therefore is it any wonder you are tempted to join in. When you follow the 7C’s, you will be taken through stages of development that need to be completed before Web, SEO, PPC and other valuable tools can be used successfully. If you want to create success in your business, it is not about throwing more money at it; it is about doing the right things at the right time to get the best from these valuable tools. Increase your knowledge to gain the right results.
The reason so many businesses either struggle to survive or pull themselves beyond mediocre is simply a question of learning, sharing, and developing the right strategic and tactical moves to make your business remarkable rather than just another runner in the race. I want you to embrace the fact that businesses do not get stuck in mediocre performance because they lack cash, sales, market knowledge, data, planning, these are merely symptoms, not causes, but because they need more knowledge and then need to know how to use that knowledge in their particular business. Until they get that part right, medicare performance, the risk of failure and wastage of time and cash will remain the reality.
You have the power to create success and exceptional results. To open that door, you must first be brave enough to follow a success model for your entire business that will require you not to follow everyone else looking for the silver bullet and instead follow the 7C’s and learn to build knowledge on strong foundations.
Are you ready to take the challenge with me? I will be with you each step of the way…
