About my business
| My business introduction | YOU ARE UNIQUE…..WHY TRY TO FIT IN? “Hello, my name is Marion Preston and I for one know how brave and difficult it is to reach out and seek help. I had reached rocked bottom myself, was suffering from PTSD, anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. I was seen as the ‘strong’ and ‘dependable’ one who, couldn’t let anyone else down so, I kept going and struggled. I was not happy, had no purpose and the ‘real’ me was hidden. In the end, my body made the decision for me and, I had to seek help. I started counselling which changed everything. I started my personal journey and started to feel better. I gained a better understanding of myself and others. In my professional life, I realised I was focusing on helping others in a way that did not align with my values. I didn’t want to give advice or always tell people what to do. I wanted to help facilitate others with their ‘change’ and enable them to feel strong and empowered to help themselves. So, I trained to become a counsellor to help others alleviate the pain they have suffered. I have experienced pain from many life experiences and know the impact these ‘events’ had on me. These effected my relationships, health, how I felt about myself and also my job at the time. I am also human and know that different events effect people differently if at all. I believe that we are all unique and see the World through different ‘lenses’ and that one type of therapy does not ‘fit’ all. I want to help others ease their pain, to be happier, find pleasure and more enjoyment in their lives. The relationship with my client is of paramount importance along with the different types of therapy I adopt. I work using my intuition, to meet my clients’ needs in a safe, open and trusting environment. There is hope and you can find some form of happiness again. I am living proof of that!” |
